Unusual pets are different to dogs and cats. They have unique needs, problems and husbandry requirements. Our practice has been developed and designed to cater directly for these needs. Our veterinarians have devoted their veterinary careers to studying the species that we see so that we can provide a higher level of care, knowledge and advice than regular ‘dog and cat’ practices. In addition to this we have a range of state-of-the-art equipment that allows us to provide a high level of care for your pet.
We see a large range of rabbits, birds, reptiles, guinea pigs, rats, mice, ferrets, amphibians and fish. We also do a small amount of work with native mammals. We do not see any dogs and cats.

The easiest way to book is to go to our Book Now page and book online. If you are unable to do that you can also call us. We generally do not accept email bookings as often when we have tried this the open consultation slot has been filled by another person by the time we have received your email back to confirm.
We pride ourselves on offering the best care possible for your unusual or exotic pet, we do not see any dogs or cats, instead choosing to spend our time focusing on the species we are passionate about. We have invested in a range of expensive specialised equipment and facilities as well as employed the best exotic-animal only vets and nurses that we can. Our vets have all undergone extensive additional training in exotic animal medicine and surgery. The combination of the aforementioned allows us to offer a specialised service that caters directly for your pet’s needs. In general, our charges are similar to what you expect to pay for quality care for your dog or cat, and in many cases are actually much cheaper. You will find some cheaper veterinary clinics around for some procedures however we do not pride ourselves on providing cheap care – we pride ourselves on providing the best care.
Most vets have 10 or 15 minute consultations. We do not find this allows us enough time to adequately discuss and examine your pet and because of this our consultations last for around 30 minutes and cost $150.
