Practice Manager Allira
Certificate 4 Veterinary Nursing, Certificate 3 Captive Animals
Allira had a very untraditional introduction to the industry where her career began at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, training as a wildlife veterinary nurse. This began after working in native zookeeping and having an interest in the medical side of things. Allira was then thrown into the deep end with her first veterinary nursing job in a very busy, after-hours emergency and critical care practice in northern New South Wales.
Allira was given the opportunity to work at a holistic clinic which additionally functioned as a not-for-profit wildlife hospital, where her passions really solidified. All this while doing volunteer wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, she discovered a powerful love of venomous snakes. Allira moved to Canberra in 2021 to live with her partner and began work at a general practice clinic.
Allira says that working with exotic pets is going to keep this fire alive in her soul while she enjoys the experiences that all animals have to offer us.
Hobbies and Interest
In her spare time, Allira enjoys exploring all that this region has on offer, being in nature, trips to the beach to increase her sodium levels and enjoying the company of family, friends and her dingoes.
Owned Pets
Allira says she is owned by 2 rescue dingoes, Max and Pepi, who have been the most incredible, difficult but awesome creatures to have raised. She would have 50 snakes if her partner would allow it.
